Stage 5: Scaling
RestoringVision has worked for 16 years to solve the global crisis of low vision. We have created the most cost-effective and efficient means of providing new, high-quality glasses to individuals who live in remote communities and survive on less than $2 a day. We have the capacity to help 5 million people per year, but we need the funds to make this happen.

Lives Impacted to Date
Uncorrected vision impairment is one of the biggest global health crises impacting the lives of over 2.5 billion people. Of those, over 500 million only need a pair of glasses to see clearly again but don't have access to or can't afford them.
Poor vision impacts all areas of people's lives, including the ability to work which affects their economic status and quality of life – for them and their families. This does not have to be the case. The answer lies in a 700-year-old invention – a simple pair of glasses. Since 2003, RestoringVision has been working to solve this problem by developing the most efficient distribution network of glasses to people living in some of the most remote impoverished communities around the world.
Our target population is the 500 million people around the world who suffer from vision impairment and need a pair of glasses but don't have access to or can't afford them.
Mission and Vision
RestoringVision is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing new, high-quality glasses to people suffering from vision impairment and living in impoverished communities that lack access to available, affordable glasses. Our mission is to empower lives by restoring vision for millions of people in need. Our vision is a world where everyone who needs glasses has them.
RestoringVision has worked for nearly two decades to address this issue. Through a network of strategic partners in the optical industry and a network of over 1,400 service delivery partners, we are able to provide new, high-quality glasses for free to people living in some the most remote and impoverished communities around the world, and we are able to do this for less than $1.00 per pair. We are one of the world’s largest providers of glasses. To date, we have impacted the lives of over 15 million people in 130 countries. At RestoringVision, we believe that good vision is everyone’s basic human right.
Through our strategic partnerships with the top leaders in the optical industry and over 1,400 NGOs, we are able to provide the gift of sight to people who would otherwise not have access to glasses. This has allowed us to become the largest non-profit provider of new, high-quality glasses and change the lives of over 15 million people in 130 countries.
Planned Goals and Milestones
By the close of 2020, we want to have changed the lives of over 20 million people.

|New Feature||RestoringVision is also concerned about eye health and care in particular for rural communities in higher altitudes where over exposure to ultra-violet can damage one's vision. Through a simple pair of sunglasses, we are able to help people take care of their eyes. |
